The ‘Warwick Deeping’ while in company of the steam coaster ‘Listrac’ was on anti-submarine and anti-invasion duties when the two ships were shelled by German destroyers. The ‘Listrac’ took most of the damage, but the ‘Warwick Deeping’ was struck by two shells. She made her way northwards in an attempt to beach her, but after her engines were running hot a decision was made to abandoned ship. All crew made it off safely.

The wreck stands mostly intact and completely upright. An excellent dive and worthy of adding to your wish list.
